Why Facilitation?

Communication is an absolutely essential component of connecting with others and establishing and sustaining healthy relationships. But communication, much like life and relationships, can be messy, which can create conflict or make it worse. That’s where I come in.

Fusing my experience and expertise in relationship coaching and transformative mediation (a relational form of mediation - not transactional) along with my intuition, I support you in having constructive conversations that help you to each feel seen, heard and acknowledged as well as finding a path forward.

IS FACILITATION FOR YOU?

Facilitated conversations benefit pretty much any and everyone. The common thread of my clients is that they are navigating either a conflict or facing conversations that feel important or challenging. Here are some examples of what that might look like (but the list is endless:

  • Any form of disagreement or lack of connection within a personal relationship that is causing pain.

  • Conflict between colleagues, co-founders, manager and managed, partners, team members.

  • Challenging conversations about elder care, medical decisions, estate planning, parental rights, gender or sexual identity, etc.

  • Legal conversations you’d rather have without a lawyer at first.

My Facilitation Style

My style of facilitation is a blend of relationship coaching, transformative mediation and my intuition, which helps me to see situations and experiences clearly so you can see them more clearly. My responsibility is to listen to you and to do what I can to help you to see, hear and understand each other. I provide questions and insights where it feels appropriate, and I also assist you in coming up with options for your path forward.

I believe we can transform our relationships and also transform ourselves by having the tough conversations - my goal is for you to walk away feeling more seen, heard, acknowledged, and empowered.

How it Works

I customize my work with groups to their needs. Sometimes a group only needs one conversation and sometimes it’s many. If appropriate, I like to start in a facilitated conversation with everyone, but I also have sessions that are available for individual people or smaller groups throughout the process. You can schedule sessions as needed or I can build you a package so you know what to expect. Sessions range from 90 minutes to three hours depending on the situation, and can be as little as $270. I work with clients locally in Portland, ME at my office downtown, or with clients anywhere on zoom.

  • I see you. I can see who you really are, in your wholeness. Your gifts, your strengths, your potential, your struggles and your healing. And I believe in you. 

  • I’m intuitive. I pick up on things that you can’t see about yourself, your gifts, your business, etc. This naturally comes into all of my work and facilitation. 

  • I’m a great communicator. I have a strange ability to distill down information in very clear form.

  • I am not the expert – you are. I help you find your own answers, not mine. I support you to get there as quickly and painlessly as possible, but it’s your process.

  • I’m quick. You will experience change very quickly (most of my clients feel a lot better after just one session).
